Sodium dodecyl sulfate is an organic compound with the chemical formula C12H25SO4Na. It is a white or pale yellow powder, easily soluble in water, and insensitive to alkali and hard water. It has the ability to remove dirt, emulsify, and has excellent foaming power. It is an anionic surfactant that is slightly toxic to the human body, with a biodegradability of>90%.
