Stearic acid is octadecanoic acid (18 acid), the chemical formula is C₁₈H₃₆O₂, the molecular weight is 284.48, is a compound, is a kind of fatty acid widely existing in nature, with the chemical properties of general carboxylic acid, English name (Stearic Acid), structure simplified: CH₃(CH₂) 16COOH, produced by hydrolysis of oil, white waxy transparent solid or yellowish waxy solid, can be dispersed into powder, with a slight butter odor. As an important organic compound, stearic acid is widely used in many fields such as chemicals, plastics, rubber, and cosmetics.
